During the process of divorce you may be struggling to redefine your relationship with your former spouse as well as helping your children cope with the separation ofyour family.Your struggle is probably magnified by anger, pain, and the lack of knowledge regarding how to support yourself and your child(ren) during this trying time. That is why the Cooperative Parenting and Divorce Program was created.
During your participation in a Cooperative Parenting and Divorce group you will be expected to make some difficult changes in your relationship with your former spouse. You will be challenged to take a “leap of faith” and focus on effective ways to interact with your co-parent. Recognizing that parental conflict is detrimental to your child’s healthy adjustment, you will make a commitment to remain child-focused, manage your anger, take control of conflict and negotiate child-friendly agreements.
More information can be found on the Active Parenting web site (www.activeparenting.com).You are expected to adhere to the program requirements and expectations (distributed during the first class).Should you have any questions please contact me @ (865) 414-2235 or email me @ ParentingClasses@Helping-Heart.com.I look forward to working with you as you move forward in establishing a cooperative parenting relationship on your child(ren)'s behalf.
Sincerely,Ron Schumann, MA, LMFT
