AOD – Outpatient Services through Helping Heart Counseling & Associates
Outpatient Services are being offered by Gene Marie Rutkauskas, MS, LADAC, NCACII. She has her Masters in Psychology and is a TN State Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) and Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor, Level I (NCACII). She has been providing alcohol/drug/co-occurring disorder services in Knoxville, and training statewide for over 20 years.
Gene’s services that she offers at Helping Heart Counseling & Associates include:
- Alcohol/Drug or Substance Abuse Assessments and Evaluations
- Alcohol/Drug Education Classes (re: Dept of Transportation, DUI, domestic violence and other clients)
- Alcohol/Drug Counseling: Individual, Couples/Family, and Group Counseling (at this time our Friday night group is suspended until we have enough clients interested in attending)
- Relapse Prevention/Refusal Skills Counseling
- Professional Consultation on Substance Abuse Issues
- Regional/State Training on Alcohol/Drug Related Topics, including Co-Occurring Disorders
- Agency/Community Education on Alcohol/Drug Related Topics
- I have also provided assessment and counseling for clients experiencing problem gambling behaviors.
Gene typically provided services for adults, but also has experience working with adolescents. The initial assessment session is $100.00 and takes about 1 1/2 hours and that subsequent sessions are $50.00/50 minutes. Regarding Relapse Prevention/Refusal Skills, clients usually meet with me once a week for 4 weeks, then on the 4th week are evaluated if that level of care can be reduced to every 2 weeks, then after 4 sessions we evaluate if level of care can be reduced to every 3 weeks, etc.
The difference in the fee for an initial assessment with a person who is seeking ongoing counseling support (100.00) and a Substance Abuse Evaluation/Alcohol & Drug Assessment is that the one-time Evaluation/Assessment session ($150.00) involves not only ASI, but also MAST, DAST, and SASSI and requires additional time to communicate with agencies (frequently out of state re: DUIs etc) about the results.
Cynthia H Gamble, LMFT(Licensed Marital & Family Therapist with TN), Brett Gleason (Licensed Professional Counselor) and Rich Hutchins (Marital and Family Therapy Intern) are also experienced in offering individual, couple and family therapy regarding alcohol & drug abuse issues and sessions are set up for 50 minutes at least one time a week at Helping Heart Counseling,.
